Thank you, Bob, for saying these things!!! I am often a bit alone in having the perspective you share here. It felt good to be reminded that I am not. Beliefs in evil run deep in the human society. Hate is often the answer. There ARE ACTS that can be labelled evil, atrocious, heinous. But I draw the line there. I never label another person Evil. Not even Hitler. I don’t believe that evil is a force in itself. The only force I believe in is love. There is positive and negative, yes. Negativity in the form of pain, harm, hurt, trauma, etc. distances us from love. Many who are caught up in that trap lash out, often in extremely horrible ways. That’s it. I was very young when I realized this, and my comment then was “Imagine BEING like that”. If you are an empath, it tears your heart to imagine such a person’s “inside”. In a discussion about these things with a friend recently, I said that felt deep compassion for people who commit evil acts. She asked if I could feel compassion even for Hitler. I answered Yes. Why? Because my “religion” is ONE-NESS. We are all interconnected. I can’t condemn anyone and expect to go free myself. Yet I don’t condone ANY ACT that violates other beings. I consider it a privilege to know these things. Today many things happen that are provoking. Then reminders are even more needed.
You got me! Hit me right between the eyes! I'm guilty as charged!
However, it has taken me 80 years to learn that simple truth you espouse.
Because of God's grace and peace, I have changed. I now am more compassionate; more understanding of the place others feel they have to live UNLOVED. Call it empathy or softening of the heart, or whatever you choose to call it. I deem it worthy of us all to grow in that direction. Thank you, Bob, for another of your beautiful episodes into the realm of true LOVE,
Your message touched me deeply—thank you for sharing it so openly and beautifully.
Isn’t it something how life brings us full circle like that? We spend so many years trying to figure it all out… and then love steps in and teaches us the truth in the quietest, most powerful ways. What you’ve described—that growth, that softening, that grace—is exactly the journey this podcast is meant to honor.
It humbles me to know that these words resonated with you. You’ve clearly walked a long, meaningful road—and it means so much that you’d take the time to let me know we’re aligned on this path of love and compassion.
I love you too, my brother. Thank you for being part of this thread. You’re proof that it’s never too late to live more fully in love.
Thank you so much for this deeply resonant message. You’ve put into words what so many of us feel but don’t always know how to express. I’m honestly moved by your perspective and honored that Episode 107 spoke to your heart.
Yes—acts can be atrocious, but labeling a person as “evil” often shuts the door on understanding, empathy, and ultimately, healing. Like you, I believe that every harmful action is born from brokenness, pain, or disconnection from love. And when we pause to ask, “What must it feel like to be that lost?”—we aren’t just offering pity, we’re practicing oneness.
That’s exactly it. We are all connected. And until we stop drawing lines between “good” and “evil” people and start addressing the wounds underneath, we’ll stay caught in a cycle that love could break if we let it.
Your compassion—even for those the world says don’t deserve it—isn’t weakness. It’s rare, sacred strength. I’m grateful to walk this path with souls like you who get it. You are not alone. Thank you for sharing your heart with me and with everyone listening. I love you loads my friend and am so honored that you feel a synchronicity with me on this stuff.
